What's New on ShadiSunnah: How We Are Making the Halal Marriage Search Better for Families

Building a matrimonial platform for Muslim families is not like building a dating app. The needs are different. The standards are different. The stakes are different. Every decision we make, from how profiles are structured to how identity is verified, reflects a commitment to doing this the right way.

This post is an update on what we have been working on, what we have improved, and what is coming next. We want our families to understand how this platform is evolving and why.

Why We Built ShadiSunnah the Way We Did

From the very beginning we made a decision that sets ShadiSunnah apart from most other matrimonial services. Every profile on this platform is managed by a parent, not by the individual looking for a match.

This was a deliberate choice. Marriage in Islam is a family matter. The involvement of parents is not just a cultural preference. It is an Islamic requirement in the case of a woman's wali and a deeply encouraged practice in the case of a man's family. We built the platform to reflect this reality rather than to strip it away in the name of modernity.

This means that when you browse profiles on ShadiSunnah, you are not browsing individuals who are marketing themselves to strangers. You are seeing profiles that a parent has thoughtfully created for their child, knowing that the other families looking at it are just like them.

Identity Verification

Every parent account on ShadiSunnah goes through an identity verification process before their profiles become visible. This is not optional. We require a valid national identity document, a CNIC or passport, from every registered parent.

Our admin team reviews every submission manually. This takes time but it is worth it. It means that the families you are connecting with on this platform have been verified as real people. It reduces the risk of fake profiles, deceptive identities, and bad actors significantly.

When you see a verified badge on a profile, it means a real person has submitted real identity documents that our team has reviewed and approved.

Profile Completeness and Why It Matters

We recently introduced a profile completeness indicator that shows parents how much of their profile information has been filled in. Profiles below 50 percent completeness are not shown in search results.

We did this for a straightforward reason. An incomplete profile does not give other families enough information to make a serious assessment. It wastes everybody's time. And it reduces the quality of connections that get made on the platform.

A complete profile, one that includes a clear photograph, detailed personal information, honest about section, and specific match preferences, is simply a more useful tool for finding the right match. We encourage every family to complete their profile fully and update it regularly.

Compatibility Scoring

We built a compatibility scoring system that calculates how well two profiles align across nine dimensions including religion, location, education, profession, age, hobbies, and languages. This score appears on every profile you view and gives you a quick reference point for how closely a potential match aligns with your own profile.

The score is a starting point, not a final verdict. But it helps families to prioritise their search and to identify profiles that are worth pursuing further.

Package Options

ShadiSunnah operates on a simple package model. Free accounts give families access to the basic platform. Standard and Premium packages unlock additional features including weekly or daily match suggestions sent directly to your inbox, the ability to manage more profiles, and greater visibility in search results.

We do not charge your card automatically. Ever. When a package expires, you choose whether to renew. We will send you a reminder before the expiry date so you have plenty of time to decide.

What We Are Working On Next

We are continuing to improve the matching algorithm based on feedback from families using the platform. We are working on better tools for parents to communicate their preferences more clearly and for the match suggestions to reflect those preferences more accurately.

We are also working on improved support features so that families who have questions or concerns during the search can get help quickly and easily.

We are thinking carefully about how to build community features that feel appropriate for a platform like this. Not social networking. But resources, guidance, and connections that help families navigate the marriage process with more confidence.

Our Promise

ShadiSunnah is not trying to be the biggest matrimonial platform. We are trying to be the most trustworthy one. The one that Muslim families feel confident using because they know it was built with the same values they hold.

That means being honest about what we can and cannot do. It means continuing to improve based on what families actually need. And it means never compromising on the Islamic values that sit at the foundation of everything we build.

If you have feedback, suggestions, or concerns, we want to hear them. This platform belongs to the families who use it and it will only get better if you tell us what is not working and what you wish existed. You can reach us any time at support@shadisunnah.com.
