Like most websites, ShadiSunnah uses cookies and similar technologies to make the Platform work properly, remember your preferences, and understand how people use the site so we can continue improving it. This Policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use, why we use them, and how you can control them.
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your device, whether that is your computer, tablet, or phone, when you visit it. The next time you visit that website, it reads the cookie to remember information about you, such as the fact that you are already logged in or that you have previously seen and accepted our cookie notice.
Cookies are not programmes and cannot carry viruses. They cannot access other files on your device and they cannot read any information from your device that you have not already provided to the website that placed them.
We divide our cookies into four categories based on what they do and why they are placed.
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function at all. Without them you cannot log in, submit forms, or make a payment. We do not need your consent to place these cookies because they are technically required for the service you have asked us to provide.
laravel_session This identifies your active session and keeps you logged in as you move between pages on the Platform. It closes automatically when you close your browser.
XSRF-TOKEN This protects all form submissions on the Platform against cross-site request forgery attacks, which are a common type of web security threat. It closes automatically when you close your browser.
cookie_consent This remembers that you have seen and responded to our cookie notice so we do not show it to you on every visit. It lasts for 12 months.
These cookies remember choices you make in order to give you a better and more convenient experience. They are not strictly essential but they make the Platform considerably easier to use.
remember_parent If you tick the Remember Me option at login, this cookie keeps you logged in between browser sessions so you do not have to enter your password every time you return. It lasts for 90 days and is only placed if you actively choose the Remember Me option.
currency_preference This remembers your detected or selected display currency so the Platform does not have to recalculate it on every page you visit. It lasts for 30 days.
ShadiSunnah runs its own internal analytics to understand how families use the Platform, which features are used most, where people encounter difficulty, and how we can improve the experience. We do this entirely in-house using our own system.
We do not use Google Analytics. We do not use Facebook Pixel. We do not use TikTok Pixel. We do not use Hotjar, Mixpanel, or any other third-party analytics service. No third-party tracking company ever receives your browsing data from ShadiSunnah. What happens on ShadiSunnah stays on ShadiSunnah.
Our own analytics record anonymised page views, navigation paths, and approximate session durations. No personal identifier is ever attached to these records and they cannot be used to identify you as an individual.
When you proceed to make a payment, Stripe, our payment processor, may set cookies on your device as part of their fraud detection and payment security processes. These cookies are outside our direct control and are governed by Stripe's own Privacy and Cookie Policy, which you can read at stripe.com/privacy.
__stripe_mid This is used by Stripe for device fingerprinting as part of their fraud prevention systems. It lasts for one year.
__stripe_sid This is a Stripe session identifier used during the checkout process. It lasts for 30 minutes.
We want to be completely transparent about what we do not do.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies of any kind. We do not allow any third-party advertiser to set cookies through our Platform. We do not use cookies to build profiles of your interests for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not sell or share cookie data with any marketing company, advertising network, or data broker. We do not use cross-site tracking technologies that follow you across the internet after you leave our Platform.
When you first visit ShadiSunnah, we will show you a cookie notice. You can accept all cookies or manage your preferences to allow only strictly necessary cookies. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be declined because without them the Platform simply does not function.
Every major browser allows you to manage, block, and delete cookies through its settings. Please be aware that if you block all cookies entirely, you will not be able to log in to ShadiSunnah as your session cookie is required for authentication.
You can find your browser's cookie settings in the following locations.
Google Chrome: open chrome://settings/cookies in your address bar.
Mozilla Firefox: open about:preferences#privacy in your address bar.
Apple Safari: go to Preferences and then Privacy.
Microsoft Edge: open edge://settings/privacy in your address bar.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by visiting the Cookie Settings link in the footer of the Platform. Withdrawing consent for functional cookies will not affect your ability to use the Platform's core features but you may lose certain conveniences such as remaining logged in between visits.
Pakistan's Personal Data Protection Act 2025 requires that users are clearly informed about the collection and processing of their personal data. To the extent that any of our cookies collect or process personal data, we process that data on the basis of either technical necessity or your consent, as described above. You have the right to withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time through the Cookie Settings in the footer. For any questions about how we handle your data more broadly, please read our Privacy Policy or contact us at privacy@shadisunnah.com
If we change the cookies we use or how we use them, we will update this Policy and notify you through the Platform before any change takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when this Policy was last updated.
If you have any questions about how we use cookies, please contact us at support@shadisunnah.com and we will be happy to help.
